  • RAM preview not really working?

Posted by David Del on August 31, 2006 at 6:04 pm

When I try to RAM preview, the green line comes up to show what has been rendered, but then it starts to disappear and there are gaps in it after it has already gone past it – and finally, nothing gets previewed…

I am working with WinXP, 1 Gig RAM, dual core 3.0 Intel.

I am guessing it is the fact that my green ram preview is only giving me a tiny bit of a RAM preview because I don’t have enough RAM. I set up a timeline that was 6 seconds long, RAM previewed it and it only gave me 3 seconds of it and then stopped.

No, you are right. It doesn’t stop, but it only renders out part of what I need and then it play that. My mistake if there was a misunderstanding.
What is the minimum for RAM for AE 6.5? I am working with hig-res images, so I wonder if that is it?

    Hi,
have you tryied to Ram preview it a 1/4 resolution (or less),
just to see if it renders all the way through?

    cheers.
