Does Anyone Know the workflow for Stereographic 3D in Premiere Pro or After Effects?
Hey Everyone,
I just got asked by a friend to help them edit a final project that was shot using a Sony 3d Full HD camera. The thing is we have never worked with 3d footage before, but I assumed that it would be relatively straight forward… I think I was wrong. The clips are in the .MTS file format, and I’m having a difficult time understanding how to work with 3d or to develop a good workflow in Adobe.
For instance, I have Sony Vegas 13 as well. When I drop the .MTS clips into Vegas editing timeline, it immediately recognizes the footage as having a Right Eye source and a Left Eye source, and it creates a different timeline for each. From there I can go into the settings and it gives me options like, Side by Side, Blend, Anaglyphic (Red/cyan), etc for the footage. There is still a couple of problems though: 1. We are trying to get this footage to work with RealD glasses, so I’m not sure which to choose out of these 3d options. 2. Sony Vegas doesn’t have the final rendering settings, or the power of editing and processing that Premiere or After Effects would have and if possible we would choose those options.
Would anyone happen to have a good workflow idea for when working with .MTS or 3d footage in Premiere or After effects?
If anyone has a workflow plan that would be incredible, but I’m sure any advice or information would go a long way as well. And also thank you to everyone for all the help!
