  • Is is possible to render and create previews from proxy files?

Posted by Eilat Ben-eliyahu on January 20, 2019 at 11:28 am

    Hi Friends,
I’m working on PP 2017. Source files are 4k s-log, and I have created proxies of 720 with the relevant LUT.
When I render any part of the timeline (sequence –> render in to out),
Premiere is apparently using the source files, and then I get to edit with the s-log previews.

Is there any way to render and create previews directly from the proxy files?

    Thanks,
    Eilat

No. All rendering is done with the original media. I have not experimented with taking the hi res footage offline…perhaps it renders with the only media available, which would be the proxy. This would be easiest to do by putting the proxies and hi res media on different HDs.
