Hiya i have the same prob as this dudes previous post (below), and cant figure out how to fix it:

“Im using after effects 7.0 in Windows XP pro. In Effects and Presets panel, I go to Browse Preset to open the Adobe Bridge, if I double click, say the Backgrounds folder, I see the ffx files, but in the preview window, it doesnt show what the background should look like. I remember the first time I opened Adobe bridege in AE7, it gave me the preview of the backgrounds, like the movie of it. How do I see the preview of the ffx files? Is there any setting I have to tweak inside Adobe bridge?

The still preview appears but the play button doesnt work… any ideas?

    Thanks heaps x

I am using CS3 and have never been able to get my preview panel to work either. After some searching I found this response:

“check whether Quicktime is configured correctly. Check the hardware acceleration functions in the QT panel as well as support for legacy CoDecs…”

I did find a setting for legacy codecs but did not find anything having to do with hardware acceleration. Of course, the text above doesn’t say it will fix the problem, it only says to “check” it.
