I need to export audio AND video to pro tools from Adobe Premier CC. Have not tried it yet, but am told pro tools will not accept mpeg 2 files. Is there a way around this? All parts of the workflow are happy with mpeg2 (edit, export, AE, on air play out, etc.) except pro tools. If it just won’t accept, is there a codec pack that can help or any other workaround? And if no workaround, what video format should be exported to Pro Tools?
    Thanks!

When I deliver to my audio mixers, who cut using ProTools, I give them two things…

    1) AAF export of ONLY the audio, and either with 2 second handles, or the full clips…depends on the mixer. And either embedded in the AAF, or sometimes just linked to the files, but most often embedded

    2) A Quicktime export (stereo mix) compressed H.264 with window burn timecode.

But typically I ask them exactly what they want before I send anything.

I appreciate the quick response, Shane. I will keep your advice in mind, if I don’t find and MPEG2 solution. Hoping I can keep all workflow in one format. Thanks.
