  NOISE-O-METER

  am having to make one of those stadium noise graphs, this one not linked to any actual audio from the event. i was animating masks but it just wasnt looking right. i was thinking a noise could trigger a displacement to give it the natural jittery movement.

  is there a diff. noise generator i should use? the one called ‘noise’ is just like standard video grain/noise

  any other ideas?

  I think there are many ways to go about what you are wanting, but you need to be more specific as to what the look or way you are representing the noise meter. Then options can be presented.

  basically audio VU looking bars

  what im looking for are ideas to drive the motion- keyframing is not looking too natural. if i had say an audio file of a crowd, what would be the best way to use that to drive vertical jitter on solids that i would use to mask/reveal the bars.
