  Making text explode like in Flash

  Is there a way of making text fly off/explode in AE 6.5 or is it better to do it in Flash and import it?

  The best you can do is right click the layer and choose “create outline”.
  It will create a duplicate layer with a mask for each piece…

  Does 6.5 not have the text animation tools that 7.0 has (I was on 5.5)? You can pretty much do anything to text in 7.0 and isolate each character for animation. There are also a tonne of presets for stuff like that and of course with shatter you can explode the word/s into pieces.

  Download the 7.0 demo from Adobe then you’ve got it to play around with for 30 days while you convince your boss to buy it! 😉 You won’t want to go back trust me!
