  • Opening project B while still in project project A.

Posted by Eric Merklein on April 2, 2018 at 9:00 pm

When I try to open project B while editing project A, I can’t figure out how to automatically close project A when B shows up. I always will have 2 projects open at the same time.

My only crazy fix is to back out of Premiere Pro and re-launch to project B.

    Is there something I’m missing?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

Current versions of Premiere permit multiple open projects, just like FCP7 could do. To close a specific project, make sure you are in the project browser window for that project and then select “close project”. You will be prompted to save or not. I don’t believe there’s any way to automatically close one active project when you open another. That would defeat the purpose of this feature.
