Can I replace audio in OP1a MXF without retranscoding the video?
Posted by Brad Hebert on March 7, 2018 at 3:21 pmI want to import an MXF OP1a and replace the audio tracks without changing the video at all. Is there a way to do this without re-encoding the video?

March 7, 2018 at 5:31 pmYou want to completely replace the audio tracks? Just pull video-only onto the timeline.
System:
Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
Win 7 64-bit
32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF. -

March 7, 2018 at 5:55 pmNo–if you’re changing anything about the file, that means re-rendering. Just bring the clip in, replace the audio, and export to a lossless format like ProRes 422.

March 9, 2018 at 5:49 amI don’t know if it’s possible with Premiere, but it is definitly possible.
If you think you have found a way, just see how fast it is. If it’s lightning fast, the video is copied instead of transcoded.hth
