Key a different color into a photoshop title
I use to do this trick in FCP7 and can’t quite figure it out here.
1. Graphic artist sent us Lower 3rds with Alpha.
2. When edited into sequence, some backgrounds make the 2nd line of lower 3rd difficult to read.
3. I would like to create a colored rectangle with a more saturated color in Premiere (easy enough) and key that color into the 2nd line of the lower 3rd (not so easy). I use to do this in FCP 7 by changing the colored rectangles section to alpha in the blending menu, and putting it on a video layer above the Lower 3rd title, but don’t have that option here.Any ideas? Thanks!

If its a PS file open it from Premiere in PS and change it there.

actually just checked and it’s an .mov file with alpha. Anyways, it would be too time consuming to change all 60 titles like this, even if it was .psd. If it’s possible to do it the way I did in FCP 7, then I can just do it once and then copy and paste the affected clip for the remainder of the lower thirds

or make things really easy on yourself and do it in AE.

would “change color” work ? i use that all the time.

Use the “Change To Color” effect for the most control.

This seems to be the best option, but since the title fades up, I’m not sure the color picker will work until the fade is complete.
Frustrating when the newer software can’t do the stuff the old software did.
