  • multi-cam sequence- navigating to a specific time code

Posted by David Seay on February 7, 2018 at 4:27 pm

I have a multi-cam sequence and need to navigate to specific points with in the hour long clip in the viewer monitor. I don’t seem to be able to dial in a time code value and navigate to that specific point. At present, I have to scrub manually to get to the points on the EDL. I must be missing something simple. Any/all help appreciated.

If you load the multi cam sequence into your source window you can simply input a time code into the time code display in the bottom left corner. But if you have multiple angles with different time codes, then you can hit match frame to get the individual angle loaded into your source window and then again enter a specific time code.

    SOLVED –

    1. highlight your multi-cam sequence in the project window.
    2. right click the file and select “open in timeline”
    3. from the pull down menu just to the right of the project title in the timeline (3 horizontal lines) select “start time”
    4. change the sequence start time to whatever you want and save your work.

The multi-cam sequence will now display your custom time code.
