I’m fairly new to premiere pro and was wondering if you can export a part of a selection/selected work area in an existing project into its own new project. Like when exporting media except it goes straight into another new project rather than getting compressed.

    How would you do that?

You could also Lasso the section that you want to use, copy it, create a new sequence and paste it into this new sequence.

Like Dave said, you can open your project and save a copy from the File menu. Open the copy and delete all unnecessary stuff.
Alternatively, you can duplicate the sequence, create a new project, then import that sequence into a new project. But it just brings in the sequence.
I don’t know what you have planned, but it sounds like a media management nightmare once you start doing that.
