This is a 30 some layer project but it is happening only where there are 2 video layers,a base QT moving texture amd two type layers. Render always stops at 47 sec 25 fr.

I have tried elimnating each layer and then rendering it again in the attempt to find bad media- no luck. I have checked for overlapping layers before and after the area and that isn’t the problem.

The more complex areas edit fine as does the rest of the piece with the same kind of video/QT/title montage.

I was able to run lower rez renders of the same material till last night.

I’m dumping the render cache after every 10 frames, running AE 6.5.1, OSX 10.3.8, dual 1 GHZ G4.

    I’m STUMPED!!! (And of course, I’m on a deadline…)

I would think it is the quictime layer that is giving you trouble. Is there anyways to re do that layer? Where did it come from? I suspect there is a bad bit of frame info there and if you could re-export the quicktime from where ever you got it and then re import it into AE it should work.

It won’t do to just delete the QT layer and then just import the same original quicktime. you have to re-render the original quicktime then import the new version into AE.

    Hope that helps!

Could be a longshot, but does the QT have audio ?
Test with different fonts on the text-la

Had this problem…simply turn off a layer at a time (I’d start with the type layers since that is what it was with us) and render. Just turn off one layer at a time and try a render. Once you turn off the culprit the render will go through…replace that layer…if it’s type, just redo the layer.
