    Hi all,

We’re currently looking at getting a client monitor hooked up in one of our edit suites and I’m struggling to find the right information online.

Our current set up is a 5K 27in iMac (2017) which has a second display monitor, connected via the display port and a USB-c adapter.

Does anyone know how we can get a 3rd screen in the edit, which will just have the playback from Premiere Pro in it? Rather than it being a desktop display/mirror image.

All advice is welcome! Thanks in advance.

Get an I/O device from AJA or Blackmagic Design. If you’re using Resolve and you want to monitor that you’ll want a Blackmagic one. There are USB 3 and Thunderbolt devices available.

You can use a 3rd computer monitor or you can use a broadcast compliant monitor. If you want to output to a broadcast compliant monitor the BMD Intensity Shuttle works good if you use HDMI or component. If you need SDI you will have to spend a little more money. Not sure if you want to use a computer monitor or broadcast monitor. If you edit any interlaced video the Intensity Shuttle is money well spent. Interlaced video never looks that good on a computer screen.
