  1080p/23.976 to 1080i/59.94 issue

  Hello everyone! A broadcast client is asking for a 60i/fps export of all our first season episodes. We originally filmed and delivered the show at the native 24p frame rate, and during the export (both within Premiere and in Media Encoder) I get issues where the interlaced footage sometimes bleeds into the next shot. It’ll also sometimes take the final frame of the shot and zoom it in before going to the next shot.

  Is there a clean way to convert 24p to 60i without strange artifacting and frame blending?

  The formats are:

  Format: MXF OP1a
  Video Codec: XDCAMHD 50 NTSC (4:2:2)
  Frame Rate: 23.976
  Field Order: Progressive
  Audio: Multichannel (8ch) 24 bit

  Converting to:

  Format: MXF OP1a
  Video Codec: XDCAMHD 50 NTSC (4:2:2)
  Frame Rate: 29.97
  Field Order: Upper First
  Audio: Multichannel (8ch) 24 bi

  im guessing you’re using optical frame change. it works better from cut to cut if you apply per clip(right click time interpolation) as the whole timeline it tries to blend across cuts. also there’s 3:2 pulldown if you want an AE pulldown type, a little more juddery like a dvd pulldown. alchemist od or terenax would give best frame change.
