Zooming in on timeline in effect controls problem – premiere pro

When i zoom in on the timeline it usually zooms with the playhead in the middle. However, when i am in the effect control tab the zoom starts to act abnormally. When zooming close to the maximum limit, it starts to zoom in an entirely different place than the playhead.
If i’m for instance zooming in on two keyframes that are close together, it becomes very hard to find them again, when zoom is zooming an entirely different place in the timeline.

Hi I know this question is 3 years old, but if anyone else runs into it, a fix seems to be to go into the Effects Controls panel menu and uncheck “Pin to clip” Then it’ll zoom in on the playhead.
