Any way to exit “Trim Mode” like in Avid?
Hi there!
I’m an Avid Editor learning Premiere and trying to set up similar keyboard shortcuts. I know that Avid’s “Source/Record Mode” and “Trim Mode” don’t really transfer over to Premiere, but there is the “Trim Edit” shortcut that allows you to navigate the timeline with a roller and adjust trims using just the keyboard. In Avid, I’d then be able to hit my “Source Record Mode” button to switch back to regular navigation up and down the timeline, without worrying about effecting the clips. Is there a name for this in Premiere that I could map to my keyboard, or a work around to turn off the Trim Edit after using it (besides just clicking on the timeline)?

I know exactly what you mean! I ended up mapping the “Deselect All” function to the same key that I use for Src/Rcrd Mode in Avid and that seems to work most similarly to what I need in my workflow.
I’d be curious to know if you wound up with another solution!
