  59.94 to 29.97 to 59.94

  My question is this:

  Is there a negative result when bringing in 59.94 source material into a 29.97 sequence and then exporting back to 59.97?

  I’m working for a studio who requires all media to be exported in 59.94.
  For the most part, all source material is brought in 59.94.

  But with such a high amount of material, along with the AJA setup, began experiencing major issues.
  The technicians recommended editing this way (29.97 sequence) and we haven’t had a major issue since.

  Now I’m being told I need to go back to editing in 59.97 sequence.

  So back to my question. Is will editing in this 29.97 workaround produce any negative or different results?

  CLARIFY the number. is this 59.94i? Or 59.94p? 1080i59.94 is the standard naming convention for 1080i running at 29.97fps…and this can cause a LOT of confusion. So verify, are they talking 60fps…or 30fps?
