I’ve just noticed that when I drop a clip in the source monitor, the playhead position time code reads like 02:16:53:12 or some other odd number when the playhead is at the 00:00:00:00 position. Is there a way to reset it?

And, once again, 2 seconds after I post my question I find the answer. Thanks, Dukey!

For those of you who are as stupid as I am, right click on the clip in the project panel, choose modify>timecode.

Depending on if the camera records timecode the clip might have another starting point than all zeros. This is usually a good thing because unique timecode in addition with a unique reel name makes it easy if you need to take your edit to another piece of software for online conforming.
