Render Line doesn’t appear
Hi!
I’m quite new to Premiere Pro CC 2017, but I’ve noticed a problem sinced I started editing big files from DxTory. When I import a video in Premiere Pro, I get a laggy preview. I know, I have to render it. The problem is that there is no green/yellow/red render line! When I set my workplace / define my sequence, and press enter or click on “render from in to out” it just plays the video. I once succeeded to render a video like this but I don’t remember how I did.
My question is how can this render line not appear? I’m guessing that if it appears I can render

Convert footage with https://handbrake.fr/ to constant framerate (not bitrate) before bringing it into Pr.

Wait, do I really need to use a converter? What does the constant framerate change? And where do I see if my framerate is variable or not? I think my framerate is already constant, i don’t understand the point of losing quality with Handbrake without changing anything else

Okay so I found out. It wasn’t a problem of framerate I knew it , and when i changed the sequence preconfig, I got the yellow bar!
Now I have to figure out what is the difference between DV/HDV and DNxHD…

DNxHD is a high quality editing codec made by Avid. DV/HDV is low-quality and essentially outdated for current standards.

So It’s preferable to use this rather than HDV/DV ?

I tried AVCHD, is it a good choice too?
