PP2017 BUG – Saved projects won’t open under a different user account
We are experiencing a strange bug in PP2017 where projects created under one user account won’t open on any other user accounts. When trying to open the project file we keep getting the error, “Project could not be loaded, it may contain damaged or outdated elements.” We have tried just about everything, short of a clean install.

In short, here is what we are having a problem with:
A PP2017 project that was created on a MacBook Pro off-site won’t open on our Mac Pros or on our other MacBook Pro here in the office. We have tried just about everything, minus a clean install. We tried Digital Rebellion Project Rescue, creating a new project and importing, compiling and exporting the sequence, signing out of CC and back in under the original creator’s CC account, renaming the files, copying to the desktop, painting a cat red and feeding it cheetos…no love.
We were able to create a new empty project on the original MacBook Pro and open that on our Mac Pros no problem, but it didn’t have any media attached to it.
We are going to try to create a Team Project, import the project into that and then invite me to collaborate. We’ll report back here if we figure something out.

I should add that all of our machines are currently running MacOS 10.11.6 (El Capitan) but the issue is listed under the “Known Issues” for PP2017 as effecting MacOS 10.12 (Sierra) here:

I was actually in that thread but got the dreaded “too many redirects” message from safari and chrome when I logged in to comment. There was an update released today that I am eager to test when I get back. Let me know if you install it and that fixes it. The offline everything and open and relink method sounds unnecessarily tedious, i don’t care how quickly it goes. I’ll keep and eye out here and on the adobe site (signed out seems to work for me to at least follow up.)

This fixed the issue for us:
Open the project in the original creator/owner’s computer. Delete render files (under sequence menu). Set Scratch disks to “same as project” (under project settings). Save project and you should be ready to go.Salvador Garza

Is anybody encountering this problem in CC 2018? I am. I’m using the latest v.12 Haberdasher both at work (Mac Pro) and at home (MacBook Pro) but a project I started at work, then dumped off to a flash drive, won’t open at home, with the “This project could not be loaded, it might be damaged or contain outdated elements” message.
Any ideas?
