I was toying around more with the spining card project and now need to learn how to make an actual card.
Do I do this in Card Dance? I try to bring both comps (Front side and Back side) in a new comp and put card dance on the front card and select the backside to be the back card. Well, it doesn’t show up. Am I doing something wrong? How can I make this like an actual card to spin in 3D space?

The easiest way is from scratch in case settings were changed… Create a new solid, or import your front image into the comp. Apply card dance. Then set your columns and rows to 1.

If you need a different back layer, import second image into the composition and choose it in the back layer option.

Use either x,y,z rotation, or “Camera Position” to move your layer around.

    Cheers,

    Vince,

I will try this…but, if I had 3 cards would I need to do it separately on its independant comps and then bring each comp into one? I am trying to make each card roatate in a circle to show facing forward. I did this with just using solid, but now using my actual card graphics for the front its hard to make fronts and backs for them then have those evenly placed for rotation.

here is what I am trying to do with the actual faces on them:

My initial thought would be using a round mask and animate along path, but the problem is that masks only exist in 2d, and so the cards won’t overlap correctly, meaning the top card(layer) will always show up in front of the others. This would be much easier to achieve in a 3d application.
