    Hello, Creative Cow personnel.
I am Brazilian and I work with editing, and I’m with these doubts and I want you to help me solve.

I need to know a way to Premiere Pro CC not generate peak files when importing videos to the software as they take up much space when working with large projects that are heavy’m using also the final cut 7.3, but want to migrate to use only Premiere Pro CC. What should I do?
Is there a way or not to prevent them from being generated?

    Thank you!

i think it’s in Preferences/Audio/Automatic Peak File Generation.

PPro is going to generate those PEK files. There is no way to stop it from doing so that I am aware of.

When it is time to archive your project, you can delete them. If you open the project again it will re-generate them as needed.

If the issue is they are devouring space on your system drive, change the location where Cache files are saved in the preferences menu. But the reality is you’ll still need to do some periodic housecleaning on the system to deal with them.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.
