  • Problem rendering simple shape on top of still image / frame hold clip

Posted by Ben Hudnut on July 29, 2016 at 7:22 pm

Trying to draw a circle on top of a still frame clip – to call attention to that part of the image.

I made the clip of the still image using “Insert Frame Hold Segment.”
I made the circle using “Circle” in “Generate” in “Video Effects.”

It looks fine in the sequence playback, but when I render it, the circle gets fuzzy / distorted / messed up.

1080i footage. Wonder if it has something to do with how PP frame-holds a single frame of that.

    Thanks for any ideas!

What you’re seeing is a field rather than a frame.

    1080i was the key.
