hi guys – just came accross this today. I have an illustrator file of two lines of text, imported in AE.

There is a mask over the top line of text….then another mask set to intersect over a portion of one letter. So only a small part of the letter is shown. This is then duplicated so there are lots of little bits of letters flying around in “3D” space. I have all the layers set to continuous rasterise so that when they come very close to camera they are still crisp.

The wierd thing is, when the small portion of the letter goes off screen, the mask stops doing it’s job. So the whole word pops up. Then when that portion comes back on screen again, the mask works again and just that portion is shown….this only happens with continious rasterise is on. Does that make sense? If not I will post some pics/project
