Editing to music from nested sequences.
Hi all,
I’m just entering the world of editing…
How would you edit nested sequences to the music if you can’t see the waveform that corresponds to such sequence in the general timeline?

Guido, why don’t you break out the audio onto it’s own separate track, and show the waveform? I try to always capture a separate audio track when working with multicam, but if I couldn’t, that’s what I would do.

I believe the music is already in its own track, no?

Ok. Thanks. Sorry. I’m not in front of my editing suite.
My way of handling it is when I’m editing three camera music videos, is that I’d be watching the preview monitor and make the cut when the beat changes.
Does that make sense?

It’s just that I can’t edit the nested sequence and see the waveform at the same time, can I? So if I double click on the nested sequence, I can edit the clips in it, but not listen to the music that belongs to the main sequence. Right?

Guido have you rendered your audio from those nested sequences?

I don’t have audio in those nested sequences. It’s just video that I want to sync with the overall music.

I feel like the blind leading the blind (joke here). Try rendering everything on that time line first. I think that’s going to help.
