export 4 separate audio channels
Posted by Ron Darby on February 4, 2015 at 4:59 amI need to export 4 separate audio channels for a TV station
Below is what I want to do
A1 full mix
A2 full mix
A3 Dialog only
A4 music and sound effectsBelow is my results at this point
So far I get 4 separate channels, A1 & A2 are good (mix) but A3 & A4 are only voice.
I need A3 voice only & A4 music and effects.I have attached a screen grab of my timeline mixer and export audio settings.

Audio is not my strong point, any help is much appreciated
I’m using Premier Pro CC v8.1 caravan.

February 4, 2015 at 4:13 pmMy screen resolution is not good enough to read your screen shots but I watched a great tutorial on how to set up a new sequence in Pr with the multiple channels you want and to set the mixer to direct the outputs to different stems.
This isn’t the one I watched but there’s a little movie in this post that seems to cover the same thing.

All your pans are to the center. This is ok for CH 1 & 2 full mix. You need to pan to the left for channel 3 and pan to the right for channel 4. This will force your stems to write to the correct channel. Based on your original post you need to mix down everything to just four channels. CH 3 need to be every dialogue track assigned to 3 + 4, but also panned to the left to force it to go to channel 3. CH 4 needs to be every track of Music & Nats assigned to 3 + 4, but also panned to the right to force it to go to channel 4. This should include tracks 5+6 if they are Nats or Music. Assign them to 3+4 and just pan them to the right so they all go into channel 4.

February 11, 2015 at 4:45 amThanks Andy this helps me understand how Premier handles audio.
I was also confused with what the station wanted, so I was having a hard time.
Turns out all I really needed was 2 stereo tracks. One with narration only , and the other ME& dialog
That I could figure out.
Although I do have anther dilemma I am truing to figure out
My 1/2 hour show consist of 4 to 7 segments. Each segment is edited in it’s own timeline and then all of them placed in a master sequence for output.
I can only get the master sequence to have 1 stereo audio channel.I need to have each sequence’s audio channels appear in the master sequence so I can out as needed.
Do you know is this is possible .
