    Hi,
Probably lesson one but can’t figure it out … I’m trying to get Premiere Pro CS5.03 to be as similar as Media Composer as poss, but when I select in and out points in the source monitor and hit V I only get the video pasting, not the sync audio, is this a Premiere thing? …
what am I doing wrong? in the sequence timeline I have a “V” symbol on the “Source side” which sends the source video to video 1,2 or 3 (or whatever)
but there is no “A” symbol allowing me to send audio anywhere, even tho the source clip (a wmv) has audio (which plays fine in the source window ……….

Testing this has highlighted another issue .. the ability to send video to various tracks seems a little unstable … it wouldn’t allow me to paste anything just now, the CTI just moved along the sequence but no video pasted ..I’d patched the video on the source side to an active video track but no luck … is this a known bug or a fault with my system??

    Thanks in advance ….

    Alan

It sounds like you don’t have an audio track that is the same as your source. First edit, try making your in & out points in your source monitor, then from the bin, drag that clip down to the new item button – next to bin trash can. It will open a new sequence that matches your source files. Then you should be able to edit to the timeline just fine. ‘V’ default is the selection tool. If you are using default keyboard, then ‘.’ (period) is overwrite edit and ‘,’ (comma) is insert.
    Good Luck!
