  • How to delete audio track from video clip? Turn off “snapping”?

I want to use just the video portion of a video clip in my timeline, so how can I delete the audio track attached to it? In Final Cut I seem to remember there was a tool button to detach the two in the timeline, and then you could move them around separately (or delete one part).

Also would be nice to turn off that feature that causes video clips to be attracted like magnets when moving them near each other in the timeline. I think in Final Cut it is called “snapping”.

Hold alt and click the audio track.

You can unlink the audio from the video if you Control-click the audio in the timeline and go to ‘Unlink’. As for snapping…. On your timeline window is an icon that looks like a magnet, click that or hit your ‘s’ key.
    Good Luck!
