  4 minute video is 12GB after export??

  (Just warning you in advance, I’m quite the newbie to premiere pro, there is a lot I’m still learning as I am teaching myself using google, so please don’t be too hard on me! 🙂 )

  Hi so I have this video I have edited that runs for a total of 4:02 and after its 3 hour long export, I check the file size and it is 12GB. I cannot upload this to YouTube as it would take over 3000 minutes, it doesn’t even play back smoothly in VLC player.

  It is a .mov file
  1920×1080 (this is the largest I’ve ever edited/exported so am inexperienced with it)
  29 fps

  After multiple tries to export the video with the correct frame size, I finally export this one which is the correct size but a HUGE file. This is not normal is it? I think I stuffed up with the “codec” option which I pretty much just guessed.

  Can someone please help me with what export settings I shuld be using? because I’ve obviously done something very wrong there!

  Pick H264 as the format and then choose a Youtube preset corresponding to your sequence.
