hi you’all, this is a bit of a noob question, but its ticking me off something rotten…
I have a bunch of clips on my timeline, all the same file types from the same source. i’m applying a simple cross dissolve at each junction. but 3 out of 4 times I have to click on the transition, then goto the effects panel and choose ‘center at cut’. about 1 out of 4 times I can actually drag the transition on the timeline.
As I have to keep zooming in, selecting transition, open effects panel, change it to ‘center at cut’, then zoom out… well its a lot of fussing about that apparently can be avoided *some* of the time.

    any tips please?

    Hi Johnny,

Do you have enough heads and tails available on the clips that you are applying the effect to?

If adding a default 30 frame transition, the first clip should have at least 15 frames trimmed from the end, and the next clip should have 15 frames trimmed from the start. If you don’t, you will run into problems.

    Thanks

thats probably it. some timeline clips have been cut from originals, and others have been imported in their entirety.
i guess PPro is being helpful? by not allowing the direct ‘center at cut’ – but to allow it later, without any warning or message is a bit odd dont-u-think ?
