How to change volume of stereo tracks in one drag on the rubber band.
Dear all,
I’m testing Premiere coming from FCP.
I have to adjust the volume of a stereo track with the rubber band. However it seems you have to adjust the rubber band individually on the left and right channel… this drives me nuts.
Anyone any idea on how to change the levels of both L and R in one go?
Also, am I doing something wrong that whenever I drag a clip with stereo track on the timeline the stereo track seems to appear on 2 separate mono tracks?

Two solutions:
– Keyframe one track. Go to the Effects Control panel and select Volume and hit copy. Select the second track, and select Volume in the Effects Control panel and hit paste. This will copy keyframes.
– Create a stereo submix track, assign the two channels and keyframe the volume of the submix.
Whichever solution floats your boat since you’re working in dual channel stereo.

Is this workaround the only way?
I feel I should clarify that the two tracks only contain 2 mono audio tracks. So there are no multiple stereo tracks involved.
The direct audio recorded with the video was a single channel stereo.
When I put the clip on the timeline and try to adjust the volume by dragging the rubber band, you have to do it individually for both the L and the R channel.

Go to edit/preferences/audio
Set multichannel mono media to Stereo.
That will give you one audio track.———————————————–

It doesn’t seem to be working. I tried a bunch of settings.
Here are some screenshots of them. I changed everything to stereo and… nothing…
If it’s so difficult to do this I don’t think PP seems worth the trouble…

If you change settings you need to re-import the clip again.
