Wild bug in CS6???
Posted by Al Bergstein on May 17, 2012 at 10:48 pmSo, I closed down CS6 after the crash mentioned earlier. Then started a new project. Opened the project, no problem. Created a new sequence for my MXF 30fps 1280×720 footage.
Imported my footage into the sequence, then look what my sequence showed!
Left side is my footage, right side is my sequence view…whoa. Would be funny if it wasn’t my paid work! (G)

May 18, 2012 at 5:29 pmAfter applying today’s patches from Adobe, the sequence from yesterday works fine, no flipping or black and white. Not sure whether the patch fixed it, or something else. Has anyone else seen such a bug?

May 18, 2012 at 8:09 pmWhen I turned on my machine this AM, and started Adobe CS 6 suite, there were updates from Adobe. A series for all the products (though maybe these came out a few days ago??). I just installed the suite earlier this week, it’s possible I didn’t say yes to initial updates after I installed, but I did use the suite yesterday without being asked to update, and this AM it did. How do we check on Adobe updates applied to the machine?

May 18, 2012 at 8:17 pmI am on Window.
Have not seen updates yet for the MC Suite.
When you go into e.g. Premiere you can click on Updates under Help.
Usually update present themselves automatically.———————————————–

May 18, 2012 at 8:43 pmRight, I understand that, posting is hard to communicate properly.
I’m also on W7 64bit. While there is a place to check for upgrades, there is no place, it seems, where you can see what upgrades have been patched to your system. I am running 5.5.2 (but can’t see when .2 was applied). It appears that Adobe does not create a restore point when it installs an update.
My About CS6 says I am currently running 6.0.0 (319 (MC:264587))
I don’t know if 319 is the build, and if so, what I was running yesterday, nor why the updates of this AM didn’t add some info to let me know what it updated. Maybe by documenting it here I can check to see if it changes. What is your build number on 6?Al

May 19, 2012 at 9:17 amYes Communication can be tough sometimes. And also my native language is not English.
No Adobe does not make a restore point.
You can check on the web when a major update was released.
And yes 319 is the build for CS6, mine is too.
Just now received the updates for CS6.
Maybe that’s because i am on the other side of the globe. Takes longer to transmit. 😉
I think they are minor otherwise it would have said CS6.1.
And usually major updates get a big announcement.———————————————–

May 19, 2012 at 3:21 pmI think, given that, I am going to make a point of making a restore point in Windows at each upgrade. I always worry about any changes destabilizing a system that is in production.
Yes, software companies often roll out updates in waves, for a variety of reasons.
