I’m new to Premiere Premiere pro and had successfully edited (with a bit of a learning curve) a full project just over a week ago.

Once i got back into it, I started adding videos in from my vacation to learn a bit more however every time I attempt to play back, the ‘Adobe has stopped working’ screen comes up, and there isn’t an image in the project window, nor the clip window.

This happens when I am trying to play the music track, or the video on it.

I am working with a standard wav file for audio
The project settings are in 720p – I’ve changed the size of the clip from 1080.
I have more than enough machine to work with a small time line like this.

I’ve re-installed the software and still nothing.

Has anyone run into this issue?

Mac or PC? What version of the OS?

    Hi Jeff!

I am on a PC – Windows 7. I just had the IT guy do a memory and Ram test and it’s all above par (16RAM)

I think I’m honing in on the issue – The footage that worked flawlessly before was 720 converted from a MiniDV tape. My sequence matched the size of the file.

Now I’m looking to get a 1080p, 960, and 720 all in the same sequence… It tents to have the preview cutting out with audio playing after a bit of lag.

    I hope this helps…

    UPDATE:

I had Magic Bullet Suite installed, so I thought about taking a crack at removing it, and the program seems to be working so much better than before!

Why would this have an effect of Premiere Pro 5.5…

I really like the program and would like to use it, how would i install it without the bugÉ

    Thanks!

Sorry: The fix was short lived.

Now it’s crashing / hanging when closing, not opening clips and extremely slow. All other programs tested are working fine – Photoshop, Vegas, After Effects etc…

    Blah.
