  Basic AVCHD Playback Question – stuttering and repeating

  I’m an FCP editor/documentary filmmaker working for the first time with Premiere Pro CS5.5 and AVCHD footage.

  Computer:
  Mac Pro tower, running OS 10.6.8
  Processor: 2x3ghz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
  Memory: 6gb 667 Mhz

  Footage shot on Panasonic Lumix GH2: 1,920 x 1,080, 24p (MTS files)

  I saved the entire content of my SDXC cards onto my computer and then imported them into Premiere. I can see my clips in the browser in Premiere. However, when I try to play them back they stutter and jerk and repeat frames. The footage looked fine in the field when I played it back in the camera. I am hoping that there is a setting in PP that is off that can be easily corrected. Any advice on potential fixes are greatly appreciated.

  I suspect your mac does not not have the Power Adobe wants to play back that format with ease.

  May have to do a FULL render of your sequence first…
