  Video Playing very slow

  Once i import the video onto the sequence and drag the video footage it shows red and when i hit to play it plays very slow where as the audio is perfect and plays on time. Also, to fix if i render it takes long time to render and soon when i edit again it turns back red and again i have to render which is affecting my editing and much time taking. Please help me resolve this.

  Hi Marian,

  We’ll need more detail in order to assist you. Mac or PC? Premiere version? Hardware specs? Video format/source?

  It could be that your computer is too old/slow for the kind of footage you are importing, but please share your specs so we can move forward

  Premier Version: CS 4
  System Specks: Windows 7/ 4gb Ram/ intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo CPU/ E&500 @2.93 Ghz/ 1Gb Graphic Card(Nvidia)

  Video Format: .mov
  Original footage shot by canon 550D/T2i (1920 x 10800(23.97 Frame rate) 16 bits/s,24000Hz

  Hi Marian,

  Sorry to say, the poor playback performance is to be expected given the hardware and software you are currently using. There may be tweaks you could do to slightly improve performance, but I would not expect smooth playback at all.

  For decent results with the DSLR footage, you would want a quad-core PC, such as a Core i7 machine, running CS5 or CS5.5, and preferably having a supported Nvidia display card to get GPU acceleration.

  H.264 is a complex codec and it takes a lot of processing power to decode it. In the Premiere Program Monitor window, try right-clicking and then reduce the Playback Resolution and see if this helps with smoother playback.

  If upgrading hardware/software is not an option for you at this time, you might try transcoding the DSLR clips to another codec that is easier to play back, such as Cineform. It does of course take time to convert the clips, but the editing experience will then be much smoother.

  Hi! I just started using Adobe Premier Pro and im having this same issue.

  The video is running a little bit slow, while the audio is perfect. Making it so that at some point further in the video the Audio and Video are completely out of Sync.

  My specs are good… there’s no reason for this to be happening. What can i do to make it run fine?

  Specs:

  Windows 10
  Intel Core i7-6700K 4.00GHz
  16.0GB of RAM
  Ge Force GTX

  I also have the Adobe Premier Pro CC 2019
  Video Format is VLC

  That’s not a video format. That’s a media player. If you don’t know what format you’re working with you can use the free MediaInfo application to see what it is.
