Premiere CS3 -Should Exporting really take so long time !
Hi there
At school we’ve edited some footage into a vid that’s about 80 minutes long!
Now we are ready to export but so far it has taken sooo long time that we had to cancel because it shows that i’s going to take some 8-12 hours to do it!
What is the best way and format to get good results exporting from Premiere CS3 in a resonable time !
Any help will be greatly appreciated !

What format is the original?
What are your exporting as?
What sort of effects and color corrections are in your 80 minute video?
What OS are you using?
What is your computer configuration? (Chip, RAM, drives, etc.)

AVI Lossless
What are your exporting as?
Tried different ones like avi (Export/ Movie)H.264, MPEG1 (Export/ Media Encoder) but all seem to take forever to export !
What sort of effects and color corrections are in your 80 minute video?
Iv’e used Level, Crop, Auto Color + DeNoiser on the audio, Thats it!
What OS are you using?
Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3
What is your computer configuration? (Chip, RAM, drives, etc.)

Color correction and resizing can be more computation-intensive. Still, that’s a good bit of render time.
Thought about letting it run overnight?

That depends in large measure on what sort of processing of the picture you’re doing, the nature of the material (HD? SD?) and more.
It’s not possible to give an accurate answer – it would be pure speculation.
