  AVCHD video unusable in FCP

  Hi Y’all,

  I shot some footage on a Lumix FZ35 which is AVCHD. When I play it or import it into FCP or imovie it plays very fast and the sound is way off. It shows as being a .mov file so it should work fine.

  I tried to convert it using Evom but the converter would not recognize it. I tried to watch it using VLS and it said that it does not support the icod format. I have never heard of this format.

  Last night I recorded from this camera and the video works fine. I have no idea what happened for the video to be recorded this way. Any suggestions on what I can do to make it usable. I’m using Mac and have never had problems like this before.

  Hi Gio,

  I’d be willing to bet that you would have a better chance of getting an answer if you posted this question on a FCP forum. Most of us here would probably just advise you to switch to Premiere Pro, especially since it doesn’t seem to have any problems with footage from a Lumix FZ35.
