  Frequent Crashing – unusable. Need suggestions

  I’m checking out PP as I keep hearing such good things about it. I’m on an intel Mac running snow leopard.

  Most times PP will crash (not responding) when I drag footage (any format) into the project.

  If it doesn’t crash then, it will almost definitely crash when I set an In-point

  If successfully set ins and outs and get a clip on the time line, using the same piece of footage and setting a new In-point wil definitely crash PP.

  What’s really strange is that I’ve tried PP before on an old installation of snow leopard and this process worked fine. I didn’t have time to explore it properly then, so thought I’d give it a go again now

  Any thoughts on this odd behaviour?

  mmm… seems to have been a GFX card issue. I think quartz was enabled. Anyway, disabling it seems to have sorted it

  What operating system version number? What version of Premiere Pro? Have you installed the Premiere Pro CS5 (5.0.3) update?

  Details of your hardware? What kinds of source footage?
