    Hello,

I’ve taken some Mpeg footage ripped from DVD for a client in order to produce clips for the web. When the DVD plays the video plays back in 16:9 letterboxed. I’m able to view the files on my computer with VLC and display the correct aspect ratio. However, when I drop the files into a DV/Widescreen sequence in Premiere I’m getting the video squished with pillar boxes. How do I tell Premiere that the video is Anamorphic and must be squeezed into the 16:9 frame? I’ve dealt mostly with 4:3 in the past.

    Thanks in advance

In the Clip Bin, right-click the clip and choose “Interpret Footage” and select one of the Widescreen aspect settings (NTSC or PAL) and that shouild do it
