  mp3 as input, dvd audio quality

  Hi,
  I keep having problems with the audio output when i write a DVD. I use mp3 for audio tracks (background music), and when i output it to DVD and view it on TV, it sounds awful. There is hiss and some kind of distortion of the high frequencies. The project sounds fine in premiere timeline. I tried bringing the audio level down to -16db. Still the same results on TV.

  Any idea?

  Render and replace audio on the timeline.
  Use PCM audio for the dvd.

  This could also just be a difference between the speakers on your computer and on your tv. Try adjusting the treble on your tv if there is an option to do this. Or listen to the track in premiere with headphones and if you still perceive a hiss you could take your audio into Audition or Soundbooth (if you have ’em) and do some noise reduction, or just lower the treble in Premiere.

  When i look at the audio in Audition, the wave looks clean. The silence between dialog bears no hiss.
