  level bars show audio, but I hear nothing …

  Just getting started w/ CS3. Audio tracks are shown; level bars show levels during play; yet I hear nothing.

  I have an M-audio breakout box I use for audio. I never loaded any audio drivers for my computer, but I hear audio fine on the breakout box using Windows Media, &c.

  Hoping someone can suggest something…

  Maybe check your project settings to ensure that audio is set to be played on audio hardware…
  Project/Project Settings/General/Playback Settings/Audio Playback…
  Also, if there’s a software controller for your audio rig, maybe you have to add Premiere to it somehow.
  Just some guesses
