    Hi,
I’ve just upgraded from Premiere 6.5 and am having a bit of a hard time getting my head around some things – forget 5.1 audio for now..

I’ve imported a bunch of SD video using CS3’s device control. I used two different camera’s to do this. The one camera is fine – or, as I expected. In other words, the audio falls on track 1 when I drag to the timeline and I can put it on track 2 if I want.. But the other camera creates a new audio track (not a 5.1 track either) and I’m unable no matter what i do to put that on the same track as the other camera.

It’s not a show stopper I just want to understand what’s going on a little better..

If there’s any more information I can provide so someone can suggest what is happening and why cs3 is behaving this way, please let me know..

Thanks in advance for all of your help

Is it mono? Premiere can’t put mono sound on a stereo track so it creates a new mono track.

    Hi Marc,
Yes, it turned out to be a mono track. Figures, after I posted this I returned to the forum and instead of searching for answers I was just reading and I stumbled across the same issue just a couple threads down. Don’t know how I missed it.

    Thanks for your time!
