Help! export from Premiere 6.0 to FCP
I hope someone out there can help me,
I have edited 150 short(20-30 sec)clips in Premiere 6.0 from DV tapes supplied by my client. They were loaded via firewire, After editing, I exported from the timeline an AVI of each clip.
settings: Microsoft Dv codec,720X480 44.1 audio 16 bit.
I burned them to DVD with Roxio software. The client said that he could not open them in FCP or import them into sorenson squeeze. After e-mail tests to the client, I re-exported as mpeg-4 files from the timeline(lots o’ work!)then burned to DVD. I just got a call that the files still don’t work, he says the the files are way too small and the quality is bad after conversion in squeeze. He says something must have changed from the test I e-mailed him to what he recieved on the DVD’s.
Question: Is the DVD burner doing something to the files? it also strikes me that mpeg 4 and then to flash is doing a double compression that should be avoided. I don’t know exactly what his workflow is but I am trying get him something that will work.
Can AVI files work? is the MicrosoftDV codec tripping up his Mac? ANY suggestions as what I can get him so he can export to flash on a Mac platform are most welcomerunning Premiere 6.0 on a Dell xps pent D 2.8 ghtz xp media sp2
Thanks!
Tom
