I just put together a PC system running on Windows 10 w/ 16gb RAM using Adobe Premier Pro CC. I have a Sony HDR A1U Video camera that records to mini dv tape. So I shoot a little project and I’m capturing the footage to the PC no problem till I go to playback and I have skipping video and audio dropouts. I set up the capture on “same as project” settings. The video card was integrated with the motherboard so then I purchased a NVIDIA GeForce GT 740 2gb and still the issue remains. Is it in my settings, software or hardware? Open to suggestions short of a new camera.

First thing – any chance your footage was shot at the LP speed instead of SP? LP speed was a dirty little secret of miniDV. The dirty little secret was folks had a lot of problems with it, even if the capture was from the original camera.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.
