I’m having two different issues with Adobe Premiere (CC2015, running on 10.10.3, plenty of RAM), but they seem to be related; one relates to copy/paste, the other relates to delete.

On a timeline, I’ll mark an in and an out, with my target tracks marked and all tracks active.

Let’s first say I want to copy this section and paste it into another timeline, while leaving the selection on the original timeline. What happens is this: when I go to paste, it will paste in something from 1 or two copies ago. I’ll undo it, then redo the same action, and the correct bit of material will paste in. I used to think it might be that I somehow misfired on the copying step, but this happens whether I use keyboard commands or going the long way and mousing the commands from the edit menu. This doesn’t seem to happen when I use the lift or cut commands, only with copy.

Here’s a screen recording to make it clear what’s happening.

On a related note, same scenario – in and out marked on the timeline, with my target tracks marked and all tracks active.

Let’s say I want to delete the section I’ve marked. I hit delete, and clips outside the marked area disappear, but the bits I’ve marked remain. I undo, then repeat hitting the delete key, and the correct bits get deleted.

There also appears to be no pattern to when this happens – it is inconsistent, but frequent. The workaround seems small, but it is incredibly frustrating to have to make the same edit over and over.
I’ve tried clearing my cache and deleting my preferences, but nothing has helped. Anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

I’m 98% sure I have. It turns out that there were clips selected during the copy, which overrides the in and out points. I haven’t heard that the problem has happened again, so I’m pretty sure that’s the issue. (When I wrote the original post, for the sake of expediency I said I was having the problem, but it was really a colleague of mine. I couldn’t reproduce it, so I had them take a screen grab so I could share it).

    Thanks for asking!
