Just curious, but so many folks have gone after QT on Windows as a potential hole, but no one has been able to demonstrate that the “potential” exploit can even be achieved.
Is this just a “sky is falling” reaction because Apple has withdrawn further development of the product?
Granted, I’d rather see PP, AE, AME, etc. deal with the formats natively, but the “Chicken Little” effect seems to be the reasoning behind the reports that I can find in the ether…

While I’m not 100% up to date on all QT vulnerabilities, I do know that this is not going away anytime soon, and anyone with any assets and information they value should get a strategic plan underway to migrate away from the QT crutch as soon as possible. As you well know, when it comes to security, the cost of complacency is exponentially greater than the cost of the security measures necessary to protect your livelihood.

The vulnerabilities in QT are now exposed and known. A large user base has it installed and are reluctant to move away from it.
This is a hackers dream.So if you System is completely off the internet then less of a worry.
If you are connected to the internet then you are taking a big risk.I’d not wait until news of hacks spreads to be considering how to respond.

Remove Quicktime, just install the codecs (QT Lite).

You can use the regular QT, only install the essentials leave the rest unchecked.
