Cotton Bounce Effect
Hey all,
I am wondering if someone can help me create an effect. I am trying to make a logo of the word “Cotton” to come from the front of view of the camera and drop down and have a small bounce or fluff when it hits the ground so it give it a sense of realness. Is there a tutorial of this or can any one point me in the direct to complete this effect?

Hmmm, thats realistic.
I was thinking importing my psd “Cotton” text logo and creating a composition in 3d space to drop from front camera view to the ground. Then, when it hits the ground do a wrap effect like in the end of Matrix 1 when Neo bends the edges of the video that creates a wobble or Ripple effect? So I can wobble/ripple the cotton out as it was hiting the middle and going out. So, how do I make the wobble/ripple effect?

Second, I know AE to an extent, but as far as Maya or any 3d app, I am a newb. I wanted to do a realistic cotton ball with texture and stuff, but I don’t have the skills to dive into Maya or such.
All I want to do is have it to have a small bounce when it hits the ground. Kinda like the snuggles commercial when the bear hits the pile of towels. Its not much of a bounce. I will try to post the design of the cotton text logo.
