  • Looking for an 8 point garbage matte.

    Hi,

I’m working in PP and AE CC 2015 and I’d like to find an 8 point matte plugin – preferably one which will work in both AE and PP.

U have great gobs of Coremelt and FX Factory plugs and other bits and pieces – plus the stuff that came with AE and PP – but am lacking garbage matte. It would be nice to find a free one.

I am a Final Cut Pro 7 refugee so am new to the Adobe compliant world.

    Any ideas gratefully received.

Oh – one more thing. In FCP I had a plugin called “Face Light” which I loved, but it doesn’t work in Adobe. If you know that plugin, perhaps you have an idea for a replacement.

    Best, Harry.

You can make a freeform matte now so the old garbage matte effects aren’t there anymore.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I read the piece. Great. But I’m ashamed to say that I have to ask how to use this tool to make an alpha mask. In my quick read, I didn’t see a reference to that. Still in the early stages of learning the Adobe software, so am not intuitive with it.

    Further help would be appreciated.

When you open up the opacity tab, there’s a pen tool that appears. Use that to mask it, you can create 16 points if you want!
