I have production studio premium. Everything WAS running beautifully. AE starting acting funny(couldn’t import media into projects) so I thought I would reinstall. I uninstalled and tried to install again. Now come the problems… The autolaunch installer will not recognize that I have DVD1 in the drive (on two different optical drives) so installation will not even start. Running setup.exe from the AE folder on the disc or coppied to my c: will only install AE Render Engine and not the full program.

I’ve tried many different variations of startup procedures, deleting temp files, completely deleting all AE files, booting in diagnostic mode, etc. etc.

I am reluctant to try reinstalling the entire suite because the installer will not recognise DVD1.

Anyone have any experience with anyhting like this?

Same exact for us! what fixed it was copying the installer to the desktop & installing from there.

Did you try trashing your prefs?
They’re in your user dir and usually don’t uninstall with AE, so theyll still be there when you reinstall.

I tried copying the folder to the desktop… no luck. I uninstalled/deleted any and all thing s I could that had anything to do with AE… no luck.

I put a call into Adobe’s support center. I’ll be interested to see if they ever call me back.

Copied the entirety of the Production Studio DVDs into a folder and maintained naming convention. Deleted Windows InstallShield(hidden folder) cache files under program files. Walla!

When I copied the folder to the HD the installer continued to ask for DVD 1, which it didn
